Join us for a maintenance day at the Community Orchard in Gravel End, starting at 11am, but come along when you can. The aims are to mulch the trees with last year’s hay, tidy the compost pile and (if time) do some clearing around the pond to maintain access.

You’re welcome to bring some sacks/a barrow and take away hay for your own mulch or pet bedding. (NB not suitable for horses as it contains a little ragwort.) There should be some apples to pick, too!

Wear suitable clothing and gardening gloves. Please bring:
– a picnic (there will be apple-based goodies and hopefully hot drinks to share)
– fork, pitchfork, rake or similar
– shears or cutting tool
– wheelbarrow if you can
– the kids and a ball
– twigs, fir cones, etc to top up the bug hotel
