As you will have noticed, the grass-cutting in the parish has not yet started this year, which has led to some problems in certain areas such as the play areas in Coveney and Wardy Hill.
Our mowing equipment is serviced each year. This year additional work was required which led to delays in the equipment being returned to us. Unfortunately, there are still problems with the equipment which mean it cannot be used, and it has been sent back for repairs.
At all stages the Parish Council have been promised that the equipment would be available and working imminently, and so alternative arrangements have not previously been made.
However, it is now clear that the equipment will not be available for another week, and the grass growth in the recent warm / wet weather has made mowing more urgent.
The Parish Council has therefore arranged for critical areas such as the play areas to be strimmed, and we expect this to happen in the next couple of days. This is not an ideal or long-term solution, but it should make these areas usable. If our own equipment is not repaired shortly, we will arrange for mowing equipment to be hired on a short-term basis to allow for mowing to take place.
We are sorry for any inconvenience arising as a result of this.
