The project is moving forward: last weekend we planted 14 shrubs and small trees around the pond and on the bank, and a cherry tree on the roadside verge. Dredging to remove the excessive growth of reeds from the pond is scheduled for Thursday 27th February. We need able-bodied volunteers to help with two tasks:
- Between now and the 27th, to temporarily roll back the wire stock fencing from the fence behind the pond so that the contractor’s vehicles can access the pond via the field.
- On the 27th, to rake out the spoil from the pond which will be deposited on the field, and to pick out any litter and rubbish found in it.
