In response to a request from Coveney Parish Council, Cambridgeshire County Council has reviewed the road safety records for both junctions.

Over the last five years, the A10/West Fen Road junction has recorded 3 slight injury collisions, while the A142/Long Causeway junction has recorded 1 serious injury collision.

Because these numbers are relatively low, the council cannot currently allocate road safety funding for improvement works, as priority is given to locations with higher numbers of injury collisions.

However, possible improvements for the West Fen Road junction are listed on the council’s Transport Proposals Database, meaning they may be considered if funding becomes available in the future.

Both junctions will continue to be monitored as part of routine road safety assessments, and road markings, studs and signage will be checked and maintained if required.
